Can you automate LinkedIn messages?
Short answer: LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits using bots or other unauthorized automated methods to send messages, and LinkedIn says accounts that do risk being restricted or shut down. This page quotes the rules so you can decide for yourself.
What LinkedIn's User Agreement says
Section 8.2 ("Don'ts") says you agree not to:
- Use bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages, create, comment on, like, share, or re-share posts, or otherwise drive inauthentic engagement.
- Develop, support or use software, devices, scripts, robots or any other means or processes to scrape or copy the Services, including profiles and other data.
- Use or attempt to use another's account (such as sharing log-in credentials or copying cookies).
What LinkedIn says happens
LinkedIn's help page "Prohibited software and extensions" says it doesn't permit third-party software that scrapes, modifies the appearance of, or automates activity on LinkedIn's website. Members who use such tools "risk having their accounts restricted or shut down", and the tools "may become non-operational without notice." The User Agreement also says LinkedIn "reserves the right to limit your use of the Services, including the number of your connections and your ability to contact other Members."
Is there a "safe" daily limit?
LinkedIn does not publish one. Any tool that claims a number is safe is giving its own estimate, not LinkedIn's rule. Spaces publishes the limits it enforces in its docs. Those are Spaces' limits, not a promise about how LinkedIn will treat your account.
LinkedIn's own route
LinkedIn's Messages API is "restricted to approved partners." Messages must come from a specific member action, not an automated or scheduled event. The member must opt in, be able to edit any pre-prepared draft, and take an affirmative action to send.
Where Spaces fits
Spaces connects your own LinkedIn account by signing in, so an AI agent can read your inbox and reply. Read the caveat box above. If you choose to use it, keep to people who know you, never use bought or scraped lists, and stop messaging anyone who asks you to stop.

FAQ
Is LinkedIn automation against the terms of service?
LinkedIn's User Agreement section 8.2 prohibits using bots or other unauthorized automated methods to send messages, add contacts, or create, comment on, like or share posts.
Can LinkedIn ban you for using automation tools?
LinkedIn says members who use prohibited tools risk having their accounts restricted or shut down.
Is there a safe number of automated LinkedIn messages per day?
LinkedIn does not publish a safe threshold. Limits published by tools, including Spaces, are those tools' own limits.
Does LinkedIn have an API for messages?
Yes, the Messages API, but LinkedIn's documentation says its use is restricted to approved partners and that messages must be tied to a specific member action, not an automated or scheduled event.
Does using Spaces make LinkedIn automation allowed?
No. Spaces is not affiliated with LinkedIn, and using it does not change LinkedIn's rules.
