How to give Claude access to your WhatsApp messages

Option A: let Claude set it up

Paste this into Claude Code, Claude Desktop or any agent that can browse and run commands. This is the prompt shown on spacesos.com ("Set me up on Spaces so you can read and send my messages."), with the channel named:

Claude will ask you for the code Spaces emails you, then send you links to add a card and scan a QR code.

Option B: set it up yourself

1. Sign up with your email and the 6-digit code Spaces sends. An agent can do this for you through the onboarding MCP server at https://api.spacesos.com/mcp/start.
2. Add a card at checkout. Don't connect an account until checkout is finished.
3. Connect WhatsApp: open the connect link and scan the QR code with your phone.
4. Create an API key. It starts with spc_live_ and is shown only once, so store it safely.
5. Add the MCP server https://api.spacesos.com/mcp to your agent, or call the REST API at https://api.spacesos.com/v1.

Can Claude read my WhatsApp messages?

Yes. Once you connect your WhatsApp account to Spaces by QR code and add Spaces' MCP server to Claude, Claude can list chats and read messages.

Can I give Claude read-only access?

Yes. A read-only key is enough for an agent that only summarises or searches your messages.

Is this allowed by WhatsApp?

WhatsApp's Terms of Service prohibit bulk messaging, auto-messaging and non-personal use unless WhatsApp has authorised it, and WhatsApp says it can ban accounts and take legal action. Spaces is not affiliated with WhatsApp.
