Spaces

Connect Codex to Spaces

OpenAI’s coding agent, in the terminal and the IDE. Once it is connected, Codex can read and answer your customers’ messages on WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, Messenger and X, inside the limits that keep your accounts safe.

Before you start

You need a Spaces account with a chat account connected. Start a trial, or paste this into Codex and let it do the setup with you:

Set up Spaces for me by following https://www.spacesos.com/agents

Connect it

  1. Run the command below once. It is saved in ~/.codex/config.toml for every Codex client.
  2. Run codex mcp login spaces and sign in to Spaces in the browser.
codex mcp add spaces --url https://api.spacesos.com/mcp
codex mcp login spaces

Using an API key instead

Prefer an API key? Point Codex at an environment variable that holds it. Create the key in your dashboard; it is shown once.

[mcp_servers.spaces]
url = "https://api.spacesos.com/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "SPACES_API_KEY"

Check it worked

Run codex mcp list, or /mcp inside Codex. Spaces is listed with its tools.

Steps checked on 3 Nov 2026 against Codex MCP docs. If a menu has moved, that page has the current version.
